The largest tribal fair of the nation Sammakka Sarakka Jatara 2018 dates has been declared by the Telangana Government.Sammakka Sarakka Jatara 2018 will be held from 31 January to February 3rd 2018.Sammakka Sarakka Jatara is largest tribal fair in the world wide.It is celebrated once in two years for 4 days during Magha purnima. Jathara will be celebrated in the heart of the thick forests of Tadwai Mandal Warangal district. Around 90 Lakh people from two Telugu states, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and other places will attends the the Jathara.

1 February 2018 Goddess Sammakka will arrive to Platform (Gadde)

2 February  2018 Devotees offer naivedyam or other offerings like Bangaram 

(bellam – jaggery) Sammakka and Saralamma Darshanam 

3 February 2018 Last day of Sammkka Sarakka Jathara,Goddess Sammakka 

and Saralamma will return back in to forest.(Sammakka Saralamma Vanapravesham)

Telangana state government was also exerting pressure on the Centre to for consider Medaram Jatara as a national festival. “Medaram Jatara boasts of the second largest congregation in the country after Khumb Mela and devotes from different States participate every year.

District Collector has directed officers to make arrangements for the convenience of the devotees arriving at the village. He wanted them to ensure proper supply of drinking water, sanitation and electricity at the village.
